General Responsibility

   Provide support to Materials Coordinator to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled accurately
as well as provide some basic office support. Receive, move, pick, package, scan, print labels
and load product onto freight trucks to meet all customer orders in an accurate and efficient
manner using FIFO. Assist with the goal to always maintain inventory count and location
accuracy in the warehouse as well as promote and maintain a safe and clean working
environment both in the office and on the shop floor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry valid fork truck operators license, be willing to obtain/renew fork truck operators’ license.
  • Examine contents and compare with records, such as pack lists and purchase orders to verify
    accuracy of shipments both with receiving as well as shipping.
  • Enter/scan receiving information into IQMS
  • Unload, label, shelve, deliver, or route materials to work locations using work devices such as
    hand truck or forklifts
  • Understand and operate always using FIFO
  • Pick, skid, wrap, label, and load parts per customer orders
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
  • Work with Shipping Receiving Specialist, Materials Coordinator and Production Manager to
    review weekly shipping requirements
  • Assist with the goal to always maintain inventory count and location accuracy in the
    warehouse.
  • Understanding customer packaging requirements
  • Maintain WIP inventory effectively by keeping WIP inventory locations filled
  • Repacking of customer parts
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing quality inspections when needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, employees, and other visitors
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.
  • Provide backup support to Materials Coordinator in terms of the ability to prepare documents
    in ERP system such as sales orders, pack slips, bill of lading, calculate weight, and complete
    ASN’s per customer requirements.
  • Prepares UPS/Fed Ex shipping labels
  • Ability to follow written and oral formed instructions
  • Ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
  • Production Invoicing to Customers as needed
  • When at front desk location, answer and route incoming calls and greet visitors
  • Offer support as needed with Assembly operations on the shop floor
  • Perform other assigned duties as requested by management

Education and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use and maintain certification of fork truck operation
  • Knowledgeable and understand functionality of the Floor/Table Scale
  • Computer skills include familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Excel, IQMS
  • Operation of shrink wrap machine
  • Ability to use and maintain label software and printing device
  • Familiarity with bar code and wireless scanner technology
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in related field

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to use hands and fingers for keyboarding and handling parts
  • Ability to occasionally lift over 50 pounds
  • Excellent depth perception, focus, and general vision up close and at a distance

Work Environment

  • Ability to safely work around moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to work in extreme heat
  • Moderate to heavy noise levels
