General Responsibility

Assemble parts and provide essential support to Production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and follow all work instructions for all press operation/assembly part
    numbers as well as acknowledge understanding in white books as required.
  • Perform daily 5S and cleanup activities during and at the end of each shift
  • Identify material
  • Perform visual quality checks of parts at the press notifying the shift supervisor of any
    discrepancy
  • Assemble parts at all assembly stations
  • Box, weigh and label parts for shipping or inventory
  • Empty bins, sort and trim parts when necessary
  • Follow all safety protocols for Spencer Plastics, Inc.
  • Perform other assigned duties as requested by management

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one-year experience

Physical Demands

Daily lifting of boxes weighing up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

  • Ability to safely work around moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to work around fumes or airborne particles
  • Ability to work in extreme heat
  • Moderate to heavy noise levels

General Responsibility

Set up, operate, and tend to more than one plastic injection molding press, empty bins sort
parts and complete quality checks as required by customer, box, weigh and ship products per
customer orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtain and renew as needed fork truck operator and crane overhead operation license
  • Identify and deliver or route materials to presses using work devices such as hand truck or fork truck
  • Identify material and mix appropriately when required by customer demands
  • Initiate start up press procedures including proper water temperatures correctly
  • Ability to retrieve proper program and modify parameters when necessary
  • Install molds into press meeting all safety requirements
  • Connect all hoses to tool and raw materials correctly
  • Remove molds from press when production run finished
  • Observe machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunctions; adjust machines as necessary
  • Perform visual quality checks of parts at the press notifying the shift supervisor of any discrepancy
  • Complete machine process monitoring log
  • Complete mold setter paperwork
  • Assemble parts
  • Box, weigh and label parts for shipping or inventory
  • Be willing to load and unload freight trucks and completing appropriate paperwork if needed depending on shift
  • Conduct moisture analysis of incoming plastic material
  • Empty bins, sort and trim parts when necessary
  • Operate blender for preparing virgin and regrind material
  • Assist material handler when mold set activities are not necessary
  • Review and understand all activities of the material handler and production operators for backup relief for breaks and absences
  • Follow all safety protocols for Spencer Plastics, Inc.
  • Perform other assigned duties as requested by management

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Minimum one-year experience

Physical Demands

  • Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds

General Responsibility

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production, process technicians and assemblers
while planning, directing and coordinating their activities and resources necessary for
successful manufacturing of products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity
specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Direct and coordinate production, processing, distribution, assisting in resolving customer
    concerns, improving productivity, and reducing scrap
  • Present daily, weekly, monthly, etc. activity reports to Production Manager, Quality Assurance
    Coordinator, Project Engineer, and Office Administrator as needed
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to
    determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between
    departments
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet
    production goals in conjunction with Production Manager
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or
    assign employees to experienced workers for training
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators
    conform to production or processing standards
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or
    grievances
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for
    workers
  • Initiate and carry out cost savings and lean manufacturing (PPS and Lean Six Sigma)
    initiatives as well as coordinate inventory and cost control programs
  • Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing
    during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality. Develop and/or verify
    that production process is up to best practice, i.e. Quality, Decoupled, Largest Process
    Window, etc.
  • Establishing of optimum post molding processes and process controls through machine and
    process capability studies as well as developing standard operating procedures, etc.
  • Partnership with technicians and operators while providing training, guidance and hands on
    support for sustaining stable processes
  • Perform other assigned duties as requested by management

 

Education and Experience

  • B.S. in technical field or equivalent work experience
  • 7 – 10 years manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other
    techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource
    allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of
    people and resources
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills. Highly effective working in teams
  • Computer skills include familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Word, Excel,
    and Project
  • Fork Truck experience
